COMMERCIAL LINES 'TEAM'

Barbie Chardon
Barbie has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She has worked in several aspects of the insurance industry including adjusting, sales, service, & directly working for an insurance carriers. She currently holds a Florida property & casualty general lines license. She is currently working on getting her "Professional Insurance Agency Management Designation". She came to Herndon Carr & Company in 2005, working in the personal lines department and just recently was promoted to the commercial lines division as customer service representative.

Cecilia J. Kennedy
Ms. Kennedy began her career in 1965 with the Hartford Insurance Company and moved into the agency sector in 1969. During her career she advanced to the position of vice president with two major agencies in the Washington, D. C. area. In 1996, Ms. Kennedy relocated to Southwest Florida and joined the Herndon Carr team. Ms. Kennedy heads the commercial marketing division for the agency, and is the agency liaison to insurance company underwriters and representatives. She also critiques renewals on a monthly basis for potential changes in the marketplace.

Cyndi Farmer
Cyndi started working in the insurance industry in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1980. She relocated to Florida in 2000 and got her Property & Casualty license. She joined Herndon Carr & Company in 2003. Cyndi provides customer service to commercial accounts.


PERSONAL LINES 'TEAM'

Barbara McCarley
Mrs. McCarley came to Herndon Carr & Company in 2005 with 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. She currently holds a Florida property and casualty general lines license and in 2004 earned the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designation. Mrs. McCarley is responsible for personal lines service and sales.

Evita Allen
Mrs. Allen graduated from the University of Latvia in 1996 with a degree in Finance and Accounting. She then worked with Balta Insurance Company as a commercial lines agent. In 1996, she came to the United States as an inter exchange student. She joined our agency in 1997 and received her customer service representative (CSR) license. Mrs. Allen is responsible for personal lines data input.

G. Daryl Sprouse, CPIA
Mr. Sprouse has been in the insurance industry for over 11 years and came to Herndon Carr & Company in 2007.  He has worked in both commercial and personal lines of insurance as an associate agent with Nationwide, with a bank owned agency, and with an independent broker agency.  Mr. Sprouse has an associate degree in business management and has earned the designation of CPIA.  He is licensed as a property & casualty agent as well as life & health, and carries an Alabama non-resident license.

Kim Woltman
Mrs. Woltman came to Herndon Carr & Company in 2005 with over 11 years of experience in the insurance industry. She worked for State Farm, Nationwide as a Associate Agent and two independent agencies over the years. Mrs. Woltman is a licensed customer service representative in our office, although she worked in sales most of her insurance career. She has an Associates Degree from Hagerstown Junior College. Mrs. Woltman moved to the Fort Myers area with her family from Maryland in July 2004 just prior to Hurricane Charley.

Linda A. Smuder
Ms. Smuder has worked in the insurance industry since 1971. She came to Herndon Carr & Company in 1998 as a customer service representative, after working for State Farm and Sedgwick Insurance Brokers. Her experience includes all aspects of personal insurance sales and service. In 1995 she earned the Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation. She has held a Florida property & casualty general lines license since 1983.

Ms. Smuder has been involved in the InVEST program, teaching insurance principles in several Lee County Schools since 1992. She has also served on the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) InVEST statewide committee.

Susan D. Moss
Mrs. Moss graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1992. She began her insurance career with Allstate Insurance Co. She worked in their Fort Myers district office for 18 years and specialized in training customer service representatives. Mrs. Moss obtained her property & casualty and life licenses in 1991. She joined Herndon Carr & Company in 1993 and serves as personal lines service representative.

Tammie L. King
Ms. King graduated from Arkansas State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems.

Her insurance career began in 1988 with Allstate Insurance Co where she held a Florida All Lines Adjusters License. She worked in the Fort Myers Market Claims Office as a Senior Claim Representative in the property and casualty field. She entered the agency side in 2003 and joined Herndon Carr & Co in December 2004 as a personal risk agent. She earned the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designation in 2004 and holds a Florida general lines property & casualty license.

Teresa Hutchings
Mrs. Hutchings joined Herndon Carr & Company in 2005. She has since earned her customer service representative (CSR) license and is now a part time CSR in the personal lines division.


LIFE & HEALTH 'TEAM'

Kathleen Smith
Mrs. Smith joined Herndon Carr in 1997. She had a 22 year career with Sears Roebuck as a department manager and furniture salesperson prior to her "second" career in the insurance industry. Kathleen earned her Associates of Arts degree from Edison College in 1970. She has held a life and health insurance license in Florida since 1992. She was formerly employed by Equitable Life Assurance Society.

Kathleen is responsible for customer service, quoting for renewals and new business and the preparation of presentations in our group life and health department.


SALES 'TEAM'

Paul K. "Buster" McKenzie
Mr. McKenzie graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He holds a property and casualty, health, and life license. Mr. McKenzie entered the insurance industry in 1989. He joined Herndon Carr & Company as a producer in 1993.


ADMINISTRATIVE 'TEAM'

KayLyn Williams-Smith
KayLyn Williams-Smith came to Herndon Carr & Company in December of 2000 after many years in the medical provider industry in Fort Myers. KayLyn brings more than 30 years of experience to her position in our accounting department.

Laura J. Herndon
Mrs. Herndon joined Herndon Carr & Company in 1985. She is a licensed property/casualty agent in the state of Florida, and provides customer service to the commercial clients. She is also responsible for the design and production of formal commercial lines marketing presentations and proposals.

Mrs. Herndon serves as the systems control administrator in all phases of procurement and updates of the agency database.


PRINCIPALS

Reed M. Herndon, CPCU
Mr. Herndon is a graduate of the University of Florida (1977) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Insurance. He completed the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1983. Mr. Herndon is licensed in property and casualty, life, and health. He is also a non-resident licensed property & casualty agent in the states of California, Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Mr. Herndon began his insurance career with Herndon Carr & Company in 1978. He became a stockholder and has served as president since 1985. Mr. Herndon heads the commercial property & liability department for Herndon Carr & Company.

Mr. Herndon holds a non-residence Property & Casualty license in California, North Carolina, and Georgia. He holds a non-residence Life & Health license in Louisiana.

Tom L. Carr
Mr. Carr graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1989 where he was captain of the golf team and a NCAA All-American Golfer. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation Mr. Carr became a professional golfer and participated on the NIKE Golf Tour.

Mr. Carr joined our sales force in 1997 and is a property and casualty, and health and life agent in the state of Florida. He heads the life and group health department.
